Friends, Relationships

monday blues.

a random get my thoughts out of my head entry is what this is.

woke up early this morning to attend a meeting in downtown which went alright. the morning well till i received a call for an urgentcall that needed my presence right away at the project site. i rushed to the site almost having another heart attack. the issue was later resolved but i am hating the project more and more each day. i can’t wait till its all over.

my heart feels unsettled today. i think its because the feeling of change and uncertainty is daunting nearby. a life changing event has happened to one of my dearest friends and yes, i am very proud and happy on one level. On another though, i am worried. i’m not quite sure how i am able to deal with the changes that follow after. i am not sure if it will affect the bond between us, though i am almost certain that that was a rhetorical thought. of course it will. but how big will the change be? will we be the same? can we be the same? i’m apprehensive of what is waiting ahead. through the whole journey i think i havent been the best and most supportive friend. i have no intention of doing so, i’m just very disoriented and uncomfortable.

i was never and still am not the most ideal candidate to manage change. change applied to my life is almost like an asteroid landing on earth affect, or the swapping of magnetic poles. yeah i dont know where all the geographic reference came from, but that shows how confused i am right at this moment.

i promise myself never ever to be a shitty friend. no matter what happens i will try my hardest to fight for the preserverance of a friendship, the most loyal mate you can find. but i have my doubts now. with this change approaching, i’m uncertain if i can keep to my word.

Spendings…

some of my makeup and skincare products have ran out recently…

well, one of my face wash fell out the window…=_=.. because of that i was left with nothing but exfoliators, which meant i needed a face wash desperately. theres are so so SO many skincare brands out in the market, particularly in asia, that its overwhelming. european, american, japanese, and korean. so many regions to choose from.

for awhile i used the Chanel’s Hydra Beauty line since I have dry skin. i adore the line. it has a lovely scent and my skin always felt supple after using the line. however at a whooping $98 for just the serum, it really is much more than i can afford..or should splurge.

being in hong kong has given me the advantage to explore asian cosmetic and skincare brands. i went into a local cosmetic and makeup supplier called Sasa today and exposed myself to an endless choice of cleanser choices. there was awhile when i felt completely overwhelmed. i had no clue where to start looking. the sales associate later came over and gave me a hand. she suggested i try the Green Tea Brightening Cleansing Mousse by Haruhada. i did a quick review lookup on my phone and they all seem quite positive. the product wasn’t expensive so i thought hey alright ill give it a shot.

Green Tea Goodness

I’ve used it tonight and so far it seems alright. i love the smell of green tea. it smells more like a green tea dessert which makes washing the face extra pleasant? haha. my skin feels soft afterwards, which brushed away my concern of it possibly stripping my skin dry as some cleansers do. i’ll need to use it a few more times before giving it a fair grading. It also comes in a yuzu version, which is for whitening.

in addition to my green tea cleanser, i also purchased a conditioning spritz for my hair. for the last few months I’ve been trying to pay a bit more attention to the health condition of my hair. I’ve switched to using Mane and Tail’s Deep Moisturizing set to prevent my hair from being all dry and straw like. i never understood why i never gave it a try because it really has improved the condition of my hair. anyways, back to the conditioning spritz hunt, i wanted to look for a product to protect my hair from the heat of styling tools (hair dryer, curling iron). the sales introduced me to PRWHITE White Pearl Conditioning Spritz, which is said to straighten hair and anti-frizz it, and protect it from brushing and blow drying. sounds like an awesome product. again, i tried it out tonight and i was already very impressed. my hair was tamed after blow drying without a brush. usually it sets in all different angles and looks messy if i don’t style it properly. i also love the scent of the product. if you ever purchase it, make sure you give it a good shake before using.

last week i also picked up a Sofina Moisturizer with SPF30 that many people have talked about, and two mascaras, one from Dior and one from Helena Rubinstein.

my loot

I purchased the DiorShow Extase for volume and curling. the mascara definitely does give volume and creates a more dramatic look, something that i am looking for in a mascara since my asian lashes lack length. the formula is quite thick as expected for volume increasing mascaras and although it does rub off under the eye after a few hours, i do love it. it applies smoothly without any fallouts. i just wish it came in a waterproof formula. I’m quite curious to try out the other dior mascaras now…

my friend has also introduced me to mascaras by Helena Rubinstein. I picked up the Lash Queen Feline Blacks Waterproof also at Sasa since it is actually cheaper than purchasing it at the HR counter. its said to deliver long lasting volume and length. compared to the dior, the formula is a lot thinner. the overall finish is less dramatic, ideal for a more everyday look. length delivered was just alright. it does have an impressive long lasting hold with almost no mascara rub off at the end of the day. other than that though, i wasn’t too impressed with the result as it didnt quite deliver what it said it would… :/ but not a terrible mascara mind you. the brush reminds me closely of a mascara that will always be my all time favorite: the Maybelline Full n’ Soft Mascara, which is sadly pulled out in Canada. I haven’t had the chance to hunt it down in the states for a few years, but the company is probably pulling it out of the market…

and so that is all for my mini loot. i hope my opinions can help those in deciding whether or not to purchase any of the products above!
